Can you imagine spending a season literally in the clouds? That’s the feeling you get when you arrive at this house in Campos do Jordão. Its location explains it: the villa is on top of a very high mountain, with cinematic views of the Lageado Valley and the Serra da Mantiqueira.
Not surprisingly, every detail was designed to take advantage of the privileged view from this ten-acre plot of land, close to the Toriba region. The garden, for example, has been planted with hundreds of trees, wisteria and other seasonal flowers, as well as paths and benches in strategic corners to enjoy the mountains. On one of the paths, visitors will find a shower of cold natural water straight from the spring, perfect for recharging their batteries.
The project, signed by Italian architect Gian Carlo Gasperini, seems to be a reference to Spanish villas, where patios offer al fresco lunches and other good moments of conviviality. And, of course, it’s impossible not to mention the living room affectionately nicknamed the sunset room by the owners: with glass windows, it allows you to watch the orange sunsets that mark the region.
The house also has that intimate and cozy atmosphere that invites guests to immerse themselves in the delights of mountain life. Think naps in the hammock, good conversations around the fireplace and tasty meals cooked on the wood-burning stove – villa 26 is perfect for spending hours and hours without haste.
